Privacy & legal

1. Who is responsible

Daniele Raimondi, Basel, Switzerland. Contact: info@danieleraimondi.com. I am the controller of the personal data described on this page, under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection.

2. This website

  • Hosting. The site is hosted by Vercel Inc. (USA), which processes your IP address and technical request data in server logs to deliver the site and keep it secure. Legal basis: legitimate interest in running and securing the site.
  • Statistics. I use GoatCounter, a cookieless counter operated from Ireland. It does not store your IP address and records only aggregate figures such as pages viewed, referrer, browser, country and screen size. Legal basis: legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used.
  • Cookies. The site sets no cookies and has no advertising or tracking. Your browser keeps only your language choice and, if you use the chat, the conversation of that tab until you close it or press “Clear”.
  • Videos. Videos are played from YouTube only when you press play; YouTube (Google, USA) then receives your IP address and technical data and may store cookies, under its own privacy policy.

3. AI Twin chatbot

What it is. The chat window is an AI assistant that answers in my name using information about my work. It is not me, and its answers are generated by AI: they can be wrong, outdated or incomplete. It gives no legal, financial, medical or other professional advice, and nothing it says is an offer or a commitment on my part. For anything that matters, contact me directly. It is a free, experimental service provided as is; to the extent the law allows, I am not liable for decisions taken on the basis of its answers. It is meant for people aged 14 or over.

Personal data. Please do not write personal data in the chat. Messages that look like an email address, phone number, document or card number, bank details, health information or details of a minor are blocked and not sent on, but this check cannot catch everything.

Where your messages go. When you send a message, it is sent, together with the last few messages of the conversation, to my server on Vercel (USA), which passes it to an AI provider to produce the answer. The main provider is OpenAI (USA); Groq (USA) is used as a backup. OpenAI may use your messages, under its own terms, including to improve its models. If you prefer not to share a message, do not use the chat and email me instead.

What I keep. Nothing from the conversation: my server does not save your messages or the answers. It keeps only short-lived anti-abuse counters tied to a salted hash of your IP address, for one hour, plus the standard request logs of Vercel (time, IP address, status; not the text of your messages). The AI providers handle your messages under their own terms and retention rules. “Clear” in the chat deletes the conversation from your browser; there is nothing else on my side to delete.

Legal basis. Legitimate interest in providing the assistant and keeping it secure.

4. Newsletter

If you join the newsletter waitlist, your email address is collected and handled by Kit (kit.com, USA), my email service provider. I use it only to send the newsletter, based on your consent, which you give by submitting the form and confirming in the email Kit sends you. Kit records when and through which form you subscribed, as proof of consent. I keep the address until you unsubscribe (link in every email) or ask me to delete it.

5. Booking a call

The “Book a call” button opens a Cal.com calendar. Cal.com’s script is loaded only when you click it. The booking details (name, email, chosen time and anything you add) are handled by Cal.com (USA) and passed to me to arrange the call you asked for. I keep them only as long as needed to arrange and follow up on it.

6. Recipients and transfers

Besides me, your data is handled by Vercel, OpenAI, Groq, Kit and Cal.com (all USA) and GoatCounter (EU), each for the purpose described above, and by YouTube (Google, USA) only if you play a video. Transfers outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland rely on the provider’s certification under the EU–US and Swiss–US Data Privacy Framework or on standard contractual clauses.

7. Your rights

You can ask me for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interest, by writing to info@danieleraimondi.com. You can also complain to a data protection authority: in Italy the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, in Switzerland the FDPIC, or the authority of your own country.

8. Content, trademarks and financial information

No financial advice. Content about Bitcoin, trading and quantitative finance on this site and in the chatbot is informational and educational only. It is not financial advice, not a personalised recommendation and not a solicitation to invest. Past or modelled results do not guarantee future results, and investing, crypto-assets in particular, carries a risk of loss.
